Deep Eddy Vodka was quick to take action and provide many outreach efforts to restore Austin and surrounding communities during the 2021 Winter Storm.
With commitments from over a dozen Austin businesses – including heavy hitters like Red Bull and Kendra Scott – Deep Eddy Vodka’s grassroots effort raised nearly $140,000 throughout the week. Those funds went to over 50 local restaurants which provided 11,000 warm meals to residents city-wide
As temperatures plunged and snow and ice whipped the state, millions of Texas residents faced cell, Internet, water and power outages and grocery shortages. Pulling from their grassroots background, the team sprang into action. They posted a message on the Deep Eddy social media accounts, calling for those in need to reach out. Their post received 161 comments, with requests for food, transportation, blankets, a hotel room and more – requests they worked to both field and address.
Messages of gratitude flooded in throughout the weekend. @Cheerstoatx wrote: “You are absolutely amazing pillars of the community, and we’ve been so inspired by your love and service this week. Deep Eddy fans for life!”
“To say we’re grateful is an understatement,” wrote @storiesofaustin. “Within seven hours on Friday, ya’ll helped us raise around $1,880 and fund over 630 student meals. All we can really say is . . . wow. Thank you.”
Many University of Texas students lost power and water. Throughout West Campus, access to food was limited, as stores were out of stock, and lines were incredibly long. Working with Deep Eddy Vodka and @sellfellowship, @storiesofaustin funded 632 free student meals.
Reflecting on the past week, @deepeddyvodka posted from it’s social media accounts: “What a week it has been — a week filled with incredible challenges unlike any we have seen before. Amid the devastation, suffering and sadness, what we also saw was a community supporting each other . . . neighbors acting quickly to help their neighbors . . . resilience unlike anything we’ve seen before – little hesitation and a lot of action. If you and your loved ones found yourselves in need this week, we hope you were able to enjoy a warm meal on behalf of Deep Eddy Vodka and our awesome partners.”
Deep Eddy is proud to be a partner with the USO, whose mission is to strengthen America’s military service members by keeping them connected to family, home, and country, throughout their service to the nation. Since 1941, the USO has been the nation’s leading organization to serve the men and women in the U.S. military, and their families, throughout their time in uniform. This year, Deep Eddy promoted a special edition bottle with a custom label, cap, necker, and shipper paying homage to the American flag and this partnership. Deep Eddy also sponsors the songwriter portion of USO’s Warrior Week, which pairs service members with professional songwriters to help tell their story.
Deep Eddy and the SIMS Foundation are committed to supporting each other through joint initiatives that support destigmatization of mental health and substance use issues. Through education, community partnerships, and accessible managed care, this partnership works to enhance the wellbeing of the music community.
ABOUT SIMS: SIMS was founded in 1995 and passionately serves musicians, music industry professionals, venue staff, and their dependent family members, ensuring that they have access to affordable, personalized mental health care. In 2020, SIMS provided 10,000+ counseling sessions, assistance to over 1,000 individuals, 1,200+ hours of case management, 1,000+ appointments with a psychiatrist, and over 850 days of substance use services and support. In partnership with our friends at Fine Southern Gentlemen, Deep Eddy Vodka celebrated Valentine’s Day by creating a custom t-shirt and call to action to “Thank Your Local Musicians” in support of the SIMS Foundation. SIMS relies heavily on benefit concerts and in person events and, in a time when the need of SIMS’ services is at an all time high, fundraising capabilities diminished exponentially over the last year. As part of this collaboration and cross promotion, Deep Eddy is committed and proud to support SIMS through unique ways so they can continue providing life changing and lifesaving services to our music community.

Deep Eddy partnered with MTV Entertainment Group to launch the first-ever Mental Health Action Day on Thursday, May 20, 2021. In the wake of COVID-19 our mental health is more important than ever. Many people are facing new mental health conditions or managing amplified existing conditions. According to mentalhealthactionday.org, through Mental Health Action Day, Deep Eddy Vodka and a number of other organizations and nonprofits came together to drive our culture from awareness to action, providing tangible tools that will help us all take action for ourselves, for our loved ones, and for our community.
To support this work, Deep Eddy encouraged all employees to participate by making a donation to the SIMS Foundation. Employee donors received a “Happy Hour” – an hour to unplug and prioritize their mental health however they chose. Deep Eddy shared how its employees were prioritizing their mental health on Instagram stories with #DeepEddyHappyHour and reposting these stories on the brand’s page throughout the day.
In 2020, the Deep Eddy Field Marketing Team deployed the Deep Eddy Cares care packages in support of and to show appreciation for our friends in the service industry during this difficult year. Each care package included PPE essentials, hand sanitizer, and a few other goodies. A total of 21,000 care packages were assembled and distributed to over 1,000+ bars and restaurants across the U.S.
Freedom, like an education, isn’t free. So, to help support those who gave our nation so much, Deep Eddy Vodka created a limited-edition “Authentic American” bottle. Deep Eddy is proud to have made a donation to Folds of Honor, an organization providing scholarships to families of fallen soldiers, and we hope you’ll do the same. Over 36,000 Deep Eddy bandanas were donated in 2020 to make masks for those on the front lines as well as our communities, to offer an additional means of protection against the Covid-19 virus. These masks were delivered to hospitals and clinics in the Austin area and other hot spot locations, our facility employees, and industry partners! While we would much rather be handing out bandanas at a festival where we get to see and interact with other Deep Eddy fans, we know this was the best use of them during such a critical time.

Bars, restaurants, and other hospitality establishments are an essential part of our lives. That’s why Heaven Hill Brands pledged $400,000 in aid to support the larger hospitality industry that is so vital to our culture—including local Austin charity, #standwithaustin. Additionally, Heaven Hill committed parts of operation to the manufacturing, bottling and distribution of much-needed hand sanitizer. Production took place at Texas’ Deep Eddy Vodka Tasting Room in Dripping Springs and Deep Eddy Vodka Distillery in Buda, where distancing and extra sanitation protocols were implemented to ensure the safety of our team as they worked to produce this critical product to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes our production line. From Buda to Dripping Springs, we made hand sanitizer for first responders and local communities in need.

Deep Eddy Vodka received the following letter from Texas-based grocer HEB, thanking the Deep Eddy Team for donating hand sanitizer to first responders in South Texas. Photos included in the letter show the impact of this donation had on the Texas community and embody the #TexansHelpingTexans mentality the community has taken on.
